We must thank the whole Bartercard team.
We heard many heartbreaking stories of pensioners losing everything in the floods as they just cannot afford flood protection. It will take many years for Townsville to recover.
Because of your donations, we were able to purchase and deliver:
- Furniture
- Towels and bedcovers
- White goods
- Paint
- Carpets
- 50 boxes of sanitising wipes
- 200 steam mops
- Cleaning products
All products were transported from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sydney to Townsville by Law’s Carrying. NQ Contracting Services in Townsville helped us with painting, carpeting and mould cleaning. We are inspired by their hard work and compassion.
We must thank the whole Bartercard team, including members Law’s Carrying and NQ Contracting Services working around the clock, buying and distributing the products.
We achieved our goal of collaborating with other Charities and organisations to help Townsville. We worked with GIVIT, a charity which was recommended to us by the Townsville City Council. A Grant was also made to the Brother’s Leagues Club for a Family Day to raise funds for the Townsville Fund Relief Campaign.
