Townsville Flood Update

Thank you

To every Donor who gave so generously to the Townsville Flood Campaign. None of our work could be accomplished without our fantastic supporters.

Because of your donations, we were able to purchase and deliver:
  1. Furniture
  2. Towels and bedcovers
  3. White goods
  4. Paint
  5. Carpets
  6. 50 boxes of sanitising wipes
  7. 200 steam mops
  8. Cleaning products

All products were transported from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sydney to Townsville by Law’s Carrying. NQ Contracting Services in Townsville helped us with painting, carpeting and mould cleaning. We are inspired by their hard work and compassion.

We must thank the whole Bartercard team, including members Law’s Carrying and NQ Contracting Services working around the clock, buying and distributing the products.

We achieved our goal of collaborating with other Charities and organisations to help Townsville. We worked with GIVIT, a charity which was recommended to us by the Townsville City Council. A Grant was also made to the Brother’s Leagues Club for a Family Day to raise funds for the Townsville Fund Relief Campaign.

Pensioners

We heard many heartbreaking stories of pensioners losing everything in the floods as they just cannot afford flood protection. We were able to assist pensioner Henry Peterson with the renovation of his home.

Regular Updates

Photos and updates on Facebook, Instagram and our Website have been posted. If you support what we are doing, please follow us for more updates and future Campaigns.

To show our appreciation to you, we have entered every Donor into the Townsville Campaign drawing. The prize winner was drawn via a live video link on our Facebook page.

Congratulations

Dale Rachow who won a Romantic Get Away For Two in the Blue Mountains. Dale said that this was the first time he won a prize! So glad we were able to make that possible for you Dale.

Sadly it will take several years for the Townsville community to recover fully, but together we have made an impact and made a few lives a little easier.
