Social Impact Partner for the SME community
History and Background
One Light Charity Foundation was established in 2011 to represent small business members and support registered charities. Over the years, One Light supported our communities including the major Townsville and Lismore floods, Help a Farmer Drought, and the Kangaroo Island Bushfires.
One Light operates a very lean cost structure, utilising volunteer and sponsored resources, making maximum impact investments in our communities. We do the due diligence on Australian registered charities for our donors who want to see more funds flow toward solving pressing social needs on the front lines.
More businesses are launching initiatives to be corporately socially responsible (CSR) and meet their ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) responsibilities. Customers, employees and stakeholders all demand it.
While CSR is typically considered a practice for large international businesses, many small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are also starting to practice social responsibility and are reaping the benefits.

Our generous donors are small business owners

Donation – essential items
Kris Martin, Executive Officer at St Vincent de Paul, thanked the Bartercard Australia members and staff who voluntarily made this donation of clothing and household items to the value of $ 180,000 possible.
These essential items will help them to raise vital funds to assist those who are most vulnerable in our community. Kris wrote that without the support from the community and their donations, they would not be able to continue providing assistance to those most in need.
The supply of temporary shelter is just the beginning for the victims of homelessness but does not in itself solve the problem. Everyone knows that job interviews are stressful and a challenge.
But if interviewees have the right attitude and feel confident, things can go a lot better. We donated to Set Free Care four jobseeker makeover vouchers.

Helping the vulnerable must be coordinated with developing skills to assist them back to work
Our Cause – Domestic Violence
With our donors ’ help, we support charities that meet the needs of victims of domestic violence and substance addiction.
These are registered charities that help the victims overcome their difficult circumstances and empower them for a better future.
We sponsored a 5-night accommodation package at the magnificent Cambridge Riversdale Estate and a 2-night stay package, at the Port Boulevard Marina, auctioned at the #UnitedForChange domestic and family prevention luncheon to the Allison Baden – Clay Foundation and Hearts of Purple.
Our Cause – Extreme Poverty
Last year we donated 300 pairs of school shoes. Great teamwork! Thank you to the amazing One Light small business supporters, donors and volunteers.
This year we have donated and delivered 𝓸𝓷𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓾𝓼𝓪𝓷𝓭 pairs of children’s shoes to nine different charities that specialise in:
Extreme Poverty
Homelessness
Education
Medical Support
Domestic Violence
Donation – Christmas gift hampers
Although Christmas is meant to be a happy time, this isn’t how everyone feels at this time of the year. On the contrary, Christmas can be stressful and depressing for many people.
Because of your generous donations, we have helped vulnerable Australian families this festive season by donating toys, and gifts for grown-ups, to the Christmas Hamper Campaigns of Newlife Uniting Care Inc, Salvation Army and Global Spirited Women Australia.

Thank you, Tony, for helping out with the deliveries

Dr. Cheryl Spicer, Global Spirited Women Australia Inc. wants to keep giving back to her community and is passionate about her Christmas Angels hampers.

We also supported Dainere’s Rainbow Ball in Canberra with a Fiji Coral Coast Pearl Resort accommodation package. The Dainere’s Rainbow Brain Tumour Fund is helping to bring hope and create change for children in Canberra and around Australia diagnosed with brain cancer.
On the evening there was some fierce bidding taking place and there was one extremely happy lady, Yasmin Snow who was absolutely delighted to secure this truly extraordinary holiday experience with a bid of $5800.00!

We also donated 500 adult and children thermometers to Queensland’s first free supermarket!
One Light Charity Foundation has been helping and giving back to those doing it tough for more than ten years now. But, it’s not just humans who are the beneficiaries.
Our Cause – Animals
We donated this fantastic Tasmania travel package to the Zambi Wildlife Retreat gala dinner to help with their fundraising efforts for the valuable work that they are doing. Their mission is to provide world-class care for retired, rescued, surrendered, injured and orphaned wildlife.
Thank you
